The image on the film is built by the lens. The camera only measures the amount of light needed to expose the film. What and how will be projected onto the film is the lens’s business. The lens is number one in the camera/lens pair. Only the lens determines the field of view, the amount of light, sharpness, what is in focus and what is blurred – everything that forms the final image.
